Charles Oliveira is open to fighting former lightweight champ Khabib Nurmagomedov but doubts whether Khabib will come back in MMA.
Oliveira will be fighting Khabib’s protege Islam Makhachev at UFC 280 at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
If Charles Oliveira defeats Islam Makhachev then Khabib may have a reason to step back inside the octagon.
Speaking to ESPN, Charles Oliveira expressed his thoughts on a potential bout with Khabib Nurmagomedov.
“Well, the fight is against Islam. Whenever [Khabib] he’s willing to get back and get on with it. I’ll always be ready,”
“Honestly, I don’t think he’s going to be fighting again. He said he’s retired, he’s done. And I fully respect that decision,”

If Oliveira defeats Islam Makhachev it would set the stage for one of the biggest fights in UFC history against Khabib Nurmagomedov.
Charles Oliveira is currently having a winning streak of 11 fights and Islam is having 10 fights win streak. it is one of the most anticipated bouts in the history of the UFCs lightweight division.
