Ahead of UFC 280, Bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling has explained the mind games of Islam Makhachev‘s team.
Islam Makhachev is set to face Charles Oliveira at UFC 280 for the vacant lightweight title in Abu Dhabi.
No doubt Islam’s team is trying to hype him and why shouldn’t they do it? they have all the rights in the world to do it.
Islam has been trained and grown up with MMA GOAT Khabib Nurmagomedov which is itself a responsibility or pathway to greatness for Makhachev.
Ahead of this most anticipated lightweight title bout Islam Makhachev is getting a lot of attention. However, UFC Bantamweight Champion Aljamain Sterling doesn’t believe the strategy of Makhachev’s team to get inside Oliveira’s head working.
Speaking in a Lockwick MMA interview, Aljamain Sterling expressed his thoughts on the hype of Islam Makhachev.
“I think (his team) is hyping up Islam. Rightfully so, but I think they’re doing it to try to maybe get in Oliveira’s head. Maybe they think they can break him if they get in his head early, and then maybe the old Oliveira who would probably quit in a fight, maybe that guy shows up. But I don’t know, I think Oliveira’s in a different place,”

To be honest yes we do believe that team of Makhachev is doing a little bit more than what they have done in the past. like khabib doing trash talk on Twitter against Oliveira was not expected.
