Colby Covington seems to be confident on defeating his former teammate Jorge Masvidal, whenever they fight inside octagon.
In an Interview with MMA News, Colby Covington has shared his views on potential fight with Jorge Masvidal. Colby believes he would spark Masvidal unconscious if he accept to fight him.
“Oh, without a doubt I would spark him unconscious.“ Said by Colby Covington,“He has got like 20 losses on his record so I feel bad about picking on a journeyman, but they [UFC] hyped him up.”
He further continued by saying if Masvidal wants to get back his title shot then he should fight him, Because he is the number one guy in the division.
‘Street Judas’ journeyman Masvidal is out here saying, ‘Hey man, I wanna get back to the title, give me a fight that gets me back to the title’. Okay, I’m number one man, come prove it. Said by Colby Covington.
Colby further asked him to come and prove that you really want to get back the title shot, He also warned that he would take this fight only if he is will to die inside that octagon.
Come prove that you want to get back to the title, I want to get back to the title. I want the belt more than I want to breathe, I want the belt more than anything in the world… If he really wants to prove it let’s see if he’s the man of his words, but I don’t think he’s going to show up I think he’s going to, you know, duck and try and put his tail between his legs.”

Few years ago, Colby and Masvidal used to be best friends and used to live together in same apartment in their early career days. The feud started with Colby leaving American Top Team and they now seems to be biggest rivals in UFC.
The fight is not booked yet, But it’s an no brainer that UFC is gonna book this fight. May be we can expect this fight announcement somewhere in late of January and February.
