At UFC 230, Dustin Poirier and Nate Diaz were previously scheduled to face each other, but that fight was called off due to Poirier getting injured.
Speaking to Ariel Helwani, Dustin Poirier has shown interest in fighting Nate Diaz. He Said, “When I’ve been laying down, Thinking about the fights, Nothing gets me excited…. unless Nate Diaz wants to fight, If he wants to fight, That’s get me excited.”
Soon after Poirier’s interview with Ariel, Nate Diaz took it to Twitter to call out him for a fight in January, to which Poirier replied, “I’ll fight you this month”
Nate Diaz Vs. Dustin Poirier would be the perfect setup fight for Conor McGregor’s comeback fight. Both of the fighters have a bitter history with him, and it would be much bigger if the winner of this fight met Conor in his comeback.
