Speaking to Ariel Helwani on MMA Hour, Leon Edwards revealed his plan of fighting Jorge Masvidal in his home country UK.

“I thought he looked like a p**sy. I don’t know why they did it anyway. I had a feeling that they would have done it because I don’t think he wants to fight, you know, and I have always said that he doesn’t want to fight me.” Leon Edwards on why Jorge Masvidal pulled out of their scheduled fight.

Last time, I would have loved for that fight to happen. what it wasn’t about i was saying over there, and i wondered about it. I’ll give him the title shot because that will be a fantastic fight in the UK and bring it back to 02 where it happened. For the title, that’s what I want to do next with the title.

Masvidal and Edwards were scheduled to fight at UFC 269, but unfortunately, Masvidal pulled out of that fight due to a broken rib injury. 

Many assumed Jorge Masvidal withdrew because he wanted to face his bitter rival, Colby Covington, to whom he fought at UFC 272.

Leon Edwards is currently scheduled to fight Kamaru Usman at UFC 278. Leon is on nine fight winning streak, His last defeat came from current champion Kamaru Usman seven year ago.

Till date, Kamaru Usman has defended his title five consecutive times. He is considered one of the greatest welterweight champions.
