After the recent victory of Khamzat Chimaev, The big question has arrived whether he can defeat Welterweight king Kamaru Usman.
Today in this article, we will discuss the chances of Khamzat Chimaev against Kamaru Usman.
As per many MMA analysts, Khamzat is the most favoured fighter to get the next title shot after Edwards Vs. Usman.
No disrespect to Leon Edwards, but we don’t think he beats Usman, even though he has better striking than Usman, but we think Usman will keep him on the ground just like Aljo did to Peter Yan at UFC 273.
Can Khamzat defeat Usman?
This is a tough question to answer, but after watching Khamzat’s performance at UFC 273, we are convinced that he needs to work on many things if he wants to beat Kamaru Usman.
We saw Khamzat running out of gas from round two, in which area Usman looked great when he fought Colby. he fought with almost the same pace throughout the fight.
Khamzat did have that Knockout power, and we have seen it in his previous fight. Especially his right uppercut and left jab, which is the only concern we see for champion Usman.
In a past fight with Colby, Usman was cracked, but he recovered very fast. But what we have noticed that, whenever he gets a tag with a hard shot, he does those weird swings where Khamzat has an advantage if he conserves the energy for those moments.
Overall it’s an 80-20 fight favoring Kamaru Usman if it happens right after Leon Edwards Vs. Kamaru Usman.
