Once a best friend turned bitter rival, Jorge Masvidal and Colby Covington are officially scheduled to fight at UFC 272.
UFC recently shared rare footage of Colby Covington pumping up Jorge Masvidal as he prepares to enter into an octagon in the mix of their trash-talking.
They both used to be best friends and lived in the same apartment when they were a part of the American top team. According to Masvidal, Their feud started when Colby refused to pay one of their coaches and decided to leave the gym.
Masvidal has not fought Since his devastating KO loss to welterweight champion Kamaru Usman at UFC 261 last April.
On the other hand, Covington also wants to bounce back after losing to the Kamaru Usman in his last fight in New york city. Before that, the American had beaten Tyron Woodley in September 2020.
When asked about Covington leaving ATT, Masvidal said: ‘Guess who’s still here? Guess who’s still here?
‘The truth will shine, my brother. I’ll let you ask [coach] Dan Lambert [why Covington is no longer at ATT], but that dude was never part of this team.
‘At the end of the day, he didn’t feel safe in here. I wonder why.’
