In February of 2011, Cormier and then-fiancee Salina Deleon welcomed one son, Daniel Jr., an amateur wrestler at American Kickboxing Academy, in which Cormier is an assistant coach. At Northside High School, Cormier took home 3 Louisiana national championships for wrestling at high school. In 9th grade, Cormier only lost two times, and both by injury in default. At the end of high school, his record was 101-9, and 89 percent of those wins occurred in the fall.
